High Dynamic Range [HDR], is an emerging display standard that allows for massively increased color depth and greater contrast compared to Standard Dynamic Range[SDR], traditional HDTVs. HDR-enabled content played on an HDR-compatible TV produces a noticeably fuller, richer image, that’s closer to what the eye naturally sees. That means much deeper black levels that retain finer details; brighter, more dazzling highlights; and a much wider color spectrum than is possible on older HDTV technology.
